TEST DAY REGULATIONS 

On Circuit

1. A driver must be a minimum of 8 years of age, sign-on, pay and place the appropriate sticker on the kart Nassau panel prior to going out onto the circuit. Showing a current membership card on a non national championship test day permits the driver to test at a reduced rate (Members £25 and Non members £35).

2. Additional drivers on the same kart must also sign on and be given the appropriate sticker for the kart. (Fee £15 per additional driver)

3. Additional karts must also be notified when signing on.

4. The driver must obey all instructions either verbal or through flag signals.

5. On a test day drivers must noticeably slow when a waved yellow flag is shown.

6. A driver must drive into parc ferme at a considerably reduced speed.

7. Karts must not be driven beyond park ferme – to drive onto the pit lane or into the paddock is strictly forbidden.

8. Karts must be identified by a number which is present on the front and rear of the kart.

9. Kart must not be started until past the yellow "start engines" board.

10. A driver on circuit must drive within safe limits in relation to the skill levels of others on the circuit.

11. Should a kart fail it should be moved to a place of safety before leaving the track area.

12. A mechanic is only allowed on circuit having signed on and wearing a high visibility tabard, at no time may anyone climb on to or over the barriers.

13. All mechanics and friends are under the control of the driver, any problems that they may cause will result in the driver being penalised.

14. Wheeled vehicles other than karts and trolleys, or vehicles entering or leaving the paddock, are forbidden in the pits and paddock area during testing

Self Scrutineering

Prior to going on to the circuit the kart and equipment must as a minimum pass the following tests. If you have any doubt as to the safety of your equipment you must make contact with an official.

1. Check that the brakes function by placing the kart on the ground and, whilst holding the brake on, lift the front and drag the kart forward, the rear wheels should lock solid.

2. Check that the throttle closes instantly when the throttle pedal is released.

3. Hold a front wheel firmly and rock the steering wheel. The wheel must be absolutely tight on the steering column there must be no slack at this joint.

4. Check all the wheel nuts to ensure that threads do show beyond the nyloc.

5. Check that the nose cone, Nassau panel and side pods are firmly fixed.

6. Check that the seat is firm in its mount and that you are unable to move it by pulling on the front or rear faces.

7. Check that the engine, exhaust, fuel tank and floor tray are firmly held in position.

8. The driver’s helmet must be in good condition and firmly fastened.

9. The driver’s race suit must be in good condition and zipped to the top. Overalls are not permitted as race suits!

10. The driver’s gloves should be in good condition with no holes

11. The driver’s shoes should not be of such a shape as to foul the control pedals or cable routes.

Failure to follow the above may lead to the driver being excluded from the test day, from a period of one hour up to complete exclusion for the day.

IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO MOVE OR DAMAGE ANY SAFETY EQUIPMENT INCLUDING TYRE BARRIERS AND MAY RESULT IN PROSECUTION.
