Maxxis TKM Festival 2009

MAXXIS TKM FESTIVAL HAILED A GREAT SUCCESS AS

WHILTON MILL CONFIRMED FOR 2010

This year’s Maxxis Formula TKM Festival at Whilton Mill has been hailed as a great success by Tal-Ko Racing boss, Alan Turney, and confirmed once more as the venue for the event in 2010.

The event attracted close on 200 drivers spread across the four main Formula TKM classes and gave some ultra close racing combined with a great atmosphere. The Junior 2-stroke entry was up by 50% in numbers which confirms real growth in young drivers now competing in TKM.

Said Alan: ”The Whilton Mill club, headed by Steve and Rita Chapman, put on an excellent display of how to run an event with great efficiency and friendliness.  I have received numerous emails and calls from competitors saying just how much they enjoyed the weekend - and that is the essence of a great event.

“At their instigation we tried using the European style qualifying system with everyone racing against everyone and it seemed to go down very well."

“We have great pleasure in confirming that Whilton Mill will again host the event in 2010 and look forward to another great event.”

Steve Chapman, club chairman added "We have a great on circuit team who must take all the credit, from the grid marshal right the way through the marshals, the incident marshals the starter and his assistants, you could not wish for a slicker team.  But there are also the people that the drivers do not see so often who also pulled out all the stops.  From me and the committee many thanks."

Next year’s event will be held at Whilton Mill on August 6/7/8.

This year’s winners were:
