CHAMPIONSHIP REGULATIONS 1.
SPORTING REGULATIONS GENERAL 1.1.
TITLE & JURISDICTION The
Whilton Mill Kart Club Championship 2012 is organised and administered by
the Whilton Mill Kart Club Ltd in
accordance with the General Regulations of the Royal Automobile Club Motor
Sports Association (incorporating the provisions of the International
Sporting Code of the FIA) and these Championship Regulations MSA Championship Permit No. t.b.a. Status: Clubman MSA Championship
Grade: D 1.2.

COMPETITOR ELIGIBILITY 1.3.1
Entrants must be fully paid
up valid membership card holding members of the Whilton Mill Kart Club Ltd
and be in possession of valid 2012 MSA Entrants Licences. 1.3.2
Drivers and Entrant/Drivers
must be fully paid up valid membership card holding members of the Whilton
Mill Kart Club Ltd, be Registered for the Championship and be in
possession as a minimum of a valid MSA Kart National "B" Novice
Licence. 1.3.3
All necessary documentation
must be presented for checking at all rounds when signing-on. 1.3.4
A competitor shall not take
time off school to participate in motor sport without prior written
approval of their school W1.1.3. Please
note that this Championship has only one Friday test day and that is in
the school holidays. 1.4.
REGISTRATION. 1.4.1
All members of Whilton Mill Kart Club Ltd (membership fee £60)
holding, as a minimum, an MSA National “B” licence
are automatically entered for the Club Championship. 1.5.

SCORING FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS. 1.6.1
Championship points will be
awarded to Whilton Mill Members counted back over all competitors and
listed as finishers in the heats as follows: 1st 34, 2nd 32, 3rd 31, 4th
30, reducing by 1 point to 34th position.
1.6.2
The points for the A final
will be allocated to Whilton Mill Members counted back over all
competitors as follows: 1st 105, 2nd 100, 3rd 95, 4th 90 and by 5 points
down to 12th place and then by 2 points down to 34th place.
Should a B final be run 5th place has 12 points, 6th 11, 7th 10
reducing by one point down to 15th place, thereafter 1 point will be
allocated for each finisher. 1.6.3
If a race meeting is based
upon two finals, without heats, the points for the first final will be 3 X
those allocated for a heat. The
points for the second final will be those allocated for an A Final. 1.6.4
A race meeting based upon
multiple heats and two finals will have points awarded according to the
following schedule. Each heat
will be allocated points as per those set out in 1.6.1 but the Whilton
Mill Members Championship Heat points will be awarded at the same level as
described for a final in 1.6.3, but based upon the points total each driver
has acquired during the heats. The
Whilton Mill Members Championship Final points will be awarded for the
second final and will be those allocated for an A Final in 1.6.2. 1.6.5
No championship points are
awarded in novice only races. If
classes are mixed within the same final starting together points are
awarded for class finishing positions. (Classes may still have separate
championships, see 1.7.3) 1.6.6
The final Championship
positions will be determined from a maximum of 9 best heat scores added to
a maximum of 9 best final scores from all 11 rounds, unless for some
reason meetings are cancelled in which case the number of best scores
counted will be 9 minus the number of cancelled events.
Exceptions are listed in 2.2 and 4.3. 1.6.7
Should a tie result from the
total of 9 heat and final rounds, for any position, the result will be
decided by the number of 1st places gained in "A” finals, if still
undecided the number of 2nd places in "A" finals, then 3rd
places and so on until resolved. 1.6.8
An appeal against points
awarded or not awarded must conform to C6.5.1 1.7
AWARDS 1.7.1
Senior drivers per round there will be 1 trophy for every 4 entries
in each class to a maximum of 7. Junior
drivers per round there will be 1 trophy for every 4 entries in each
class. 1.7.2
Overall Championships. The winner of each Championship will receive
a Championship trophy plus the perpetual trophy that may be kept until the
September round of the 2012 series. 1.7.3.
An overall championship will only be held if there are ten or more
competitors regularly competing in the class. 1.7.4.
At the Club's discretion overall championship awards may be given
for second to fifth places, if there are sufficient entries in a class. 1.7.5.
Championship trophies will only be presented to the driver in
person at the Annual Dinner Dance or by special arrangement under
exceptional circumstances. 2
SPORTING REGULATIONS -
JUDICIAL PROCEDURES. 2.2
Championship
- If a competitor is excluded from a final for offences in Section C,
other than under weight or filling in a scrutineering card incorrectly,
they will include this race as one of the rounds that count for the Club
Championship 3.
SPORTING
REGULATIONS-CHAMPIONSHIP RACE MEETINGS AND RACE PROCEDURE.
3.1.
ENTRIES. Supplementary
regulations and entry forms will be available to all registered drivers
from 1st January 2012. 3.1.1.
Competitors are responsible for sending in correct and complete
entries with the correct fee to arrive prior to the closing date, which
will be one week prior to the meeting taking place.
The competition secretary may, at her discretion, allow additional
drivers after the closing date in order to fill grids. 3.1
2. Entries will only be acknowledged by request only if a SAE is enclosed
with the entry for that purpose. 3.1.3.
The entry fee for members will be £45 for each meeting, the
classes accepted for racing being subject to the number of entries, the
Club reserve the right to refuse or amalgamate classes when entries are
less than 10 for a class. 3.1.4.
Entry fees will only be refunded in full if withdrawn by written
request prior to the closing date. Entries
withdrawn after the closing date will be subject to a £10 administration
fee other than those withdrawn after the Friday noon before the meeting
when the fee will be forfeit. 3.2.
PRACTICE. Official
practice will be the minimum period as specified in the MSA regulations. 3.3.
GRID POSITIONS. 3.3.1.
The maximum grid will never exceed 34. 3.3.2.
For all classes the heat grid positions will be allocated by
receipt of entry except when specified otherwise in the SR's. 3.4.
RACES. 3.4.1.
Race duration will be as specified in the SR's for the meeting. 3.4.2.
Heats and finals duration may be reduced in wet weather or
unforeseen circumstances and will be announced on the dummy grid
accordingly prior to the race. Changes
may also be made during racing for safety reasons. 3.5.
STARTS. 3.5.1.
Will be as MSA specific karting regulations U7.5 to U7.8.
Penalties may be imposed on the pole position driver for speed
considered to be too fast or too slow.
Penalties may also be imposed on the No 2 position driver if
considered to have broken formation. Drivers
who fail to take their correct position on the dummy grid when instructed
must start the race at the rear of the last row of the grid. 3.5.2.
Excessive weaving to warm up tyres is prohibited. 3.5.3
Drivers who spin during a rolling lap, or enter the circuit late,
must take up a position at the rear of the field. 3.6
RACESTOPS. 3.6.1.
Will be as MSA specific
karting regulations U7.9 and U7.10 3.6.2.
Should the Red flag be shown
all competitors will stop racing immediately, slow down and proceed to a
position just prior to the pits entry and stop, unless the circuit is
blocked. 3.6.3.
Any kart that has not taken the original start will not be allowed to take
the restart, unless the race was stopped due to a false start, or the race
is being completely rerun, in which case the start had not taken place. 4
TECHNICAL REGULATIONS. 4.1
MSA 2012 Specific karting
technical regulations apply together with the 2012 ABkC regulations within
the 2012 MSA Kart Race Yearbook and the following 4.2
Within the Club Championship
races will be provided for the following classes – Comer Cadet, Honda
Cadet, Junior TKM,
Mini Max, Junior Rotax, TKM Extreme, Senior Rotax Max and Rotax 177. 4.3
Penalties arising from post
race scrutineering will be in accordance with section C3.5 of the 2012 MSA
Yearbook with the exceptions of C3.5(c) and exclusions due to being
underweight or technical infringements due to accidental damage. 4.4
TYRES.
Only one set of slick tyres will be allowed for racing per
competitor per round, plus one extra front and one extra rear per set,
these extra tyres may only be allowed at the discretion of the Chief
scrutineer if in his opinion either one front or one rear tyre is un-safe
to use. IT IS THE COMPETITOR'S RESPONSIBILITY to make sure that the
scrutineer inspects a faulty tyre before the kart leaves the track
exit/weighing in area. No
extra tyres will be allowed after the kart has returned to the pit area 4.5
CHASSIS
All classes will be allowed one chassis unless otherwise permitted in the
SR's. However, if damage
occurs to the chassis that has been scrutineered for the meeting, if in
the opinion of the scrutineer it is not practical to repair in time, one
alternative chassis may be scrutineered in order to continue the meeting. 4.6
Pre-race scrutineering will
be held each Sunday am as per SR's, transponders must be fitted. 4.7
All competitors will be given
a scrutineering ticket/card for which they have SOLE responsibility to
fill in correctly and hand to the scrutineer at pre race scrutineering.
This card/ticket must contain the following information: - Drivers
name, class and race number, the chassis unique number as MSA U16.5.1 and
U16.5.2, and each engine's unique number and seal numbers if used and the
transponder code number. The
ticket/card must be signed by the driver and if under 18 by the parent or
guardian. It is stressed once
more that both the completion and handing in of this ticket/card is the
SOLE responsibility of the competitor.
These tickets/cards will be the only method used to check that each
competitor is using at all times the equipment declared and presented by
him/her at pre race scrutineering 4.8
Post Race Scrutineering will
take place after heats and finals and all results are deemed provisional
until all karts are released by the Scrutineers and/or after completion of
any Judicial or Technical procedures, including the testing of fuel, which
may take several days. At any
post race scrutineering the chassis, engine and seal numbers (if used)
must be those stated on the scrutineering card/ticket.
Should it be found that the chassis or engines do not comply with
the above requirements it will be considered to be a matter of fact for
which there will be no appeal. 5
CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS All
results become final seven days subject to Technical matters or any
pending matters C6.5.1. Points
are displayed on the Club web site www.whiltonmillkartclub.co.uk.
